The Tui Nalawa, Ratu Epeli Niudamu, has thanked Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama and the Fijian Government for helping his people and for living up to their promises.

“Accessibility to Government services is all we have been asking for and they have brought it right here to us,” Ratu Epeli said.

“It means a lot and we are thankful to Prime Minister Bainimarama and his Government for that.

“The two-day 2018 Government Roadshow at Nawairuku in Nalawa, Ra is something we have always wanted.

“Having it here means a lot to us, given the fact that most of our villages are situated in remote rural areas, and for the Government, let alone the Prime Minister to come out all this way, speaks volumes of the kind of leader he is.

“Now that we have learned that we will have a new District Office (DO) in Namarai is even better, because now we do not have to go all the way to Rakiraki in order for our voices to be heard or to be assisted.

“For that we thank the Government.”

Prime Minister Bainimarama revealed the opening of a new DO’s office during his speech, which was well received by the people of Nalawa, Ra.

“Fijians of every age, from every walk of life, in our cities, in our towns, and in rural and maritime regions of the country have all benefitted from the decade of service delivery brought by my Government,” Mr Bainimarama said.

“That progress has been driven by a new mentality that we’ve introduced, a mentality that puts you – the Fijian people – at the centre of everything we do.

“It’s a business way of thinking that sees all of you as our clients, our customers who we are here to serve. That’s our approach, and every Fijian has seen how we have revolutionised the support given to ordinary people.”

Mr Bainimarama said this was a story that would not only be told in Ra but in the rest of Fiji as well because they are looking to reach out to other rural remote area communities and take Government services right to their door-step.
