Reps Suspended

Three national reps Setareki Hughes, Amani Makoe and Samuela Nabenia will not feature for Rewa and Ba respectively at the 2018 INKK Mobile Battle of the Giants which starts in Churchill Park, Lautoka today.
The trio were suspended by the Fiji Football Association after failing to turn up for the national team camp last month.
They were in camp and released for the Vodafone Premier League competition and did not abide by the condition.
Fiji Football Association chief executive officer Mohammed Yusuf said the decision was made during the disciplinary committee meeting on Wednesday.
Yusuf said, “After thorough deliberation and listening to their case presented from both sides, the committee ruled that they did not adhere to the prior instructions and arrangements made by Fiji FA for their return to the national team camp on 25/062018.
“He (Setareki Hughes) is suspended from participating in the next four matches in the premier division and fined $400 which must be settled in full before future participation at any level off football.”
Therefore, Hughes will feature for defending champions Rewa in the B.O.G unless the team qualifies to the final.
Makoe and Nabenia are suspended for three matches each and will only be cleared upon paying $300 fine to the Fiji Football Association.
“Both players are suspended from the next three premier division matches in the Fiji FA fixtures. Furthermore, they will be fined $300 which must be settled in full before future participations at any level of football,” he said.
