Loss will make us stronger individuals: Paula Dranisinukula

Fiji Airways Fiji 7s forward Paula Dranisinukula said the Rugby World Cup Sevens experience would only make the players stronger individuals.

He was disappointed that they fell short of winning the Melrose Cup after going down 17-22 to New Zealand in the semifinal.

“Everything we learned in the world cup, the highs, the lows, will only make us stronger players,”Dranisinukula said.

“Being stronger players is the only option we have if we are to move forward.”

The 27-year-old was very emotional and struggling to hold back his tears during the interview at Nadi International Airport.

“We know people are disappointed, we have seen what has been written about us on social media but that is okay because that is their right.

“But we will just keep working hard and come back stronger in the World Sevens Series and the Tokyo Olympics.

“If God allows us, we will continue doing what we do. The loss is behind us now, we need to move forward and work harder.

“The only way from here is up, that is all we can do and we will do that for our families and for our nation.”

The Navuniivi, Ra lad said dwelling in the past does help anyone as we should move forward together.
