Forum For Young Athletes Is Confirmed

FASANOC will host a Team Fiji Young Athletes Forum at the Grand Pacific Hotel in Suva on Saturday.
The confirmed sports that will be participating in the Y.O.G include a male participant in athletics and badminton and a female athlete in table tennis, through the International Olympic Committee’s allocation of Universality Places to FASANOC.
As part of its build-up towards the 2018 Youth Olympic Games, Team Fiji chef de mission Tomasi Tiko said the aim of the forum is to target young potential athletes from all sporting federations.
Tiko said athletes would be able to develop a personal development plan and how they can stay on track to achieve their goals and dreams.
“The forum will expose young up and coming athletes to elements of high performance that can help take their performance to the next level,” he said.
“Topics such as healthy living, sports diet, sports psychology and personal marketing will be discussed on the day at the Grand Pacific Hotel.
“Team Fiji is hoping to confirm our final team list by early August. Swimming is currently awaiting qualification results while rugby sevens men and women, having already taken part in the qualification tournaments.”
