The 2018 Annual awards for the South Pacific Stock Exchange (SPSE) were officially launched yesterday.

The annual awards will be held on September 28 at the Grand Pacific Hotel in Suva.

Simultaneously, two gold sponsors also signed up for the event this year.

Amalgamated Telecom Holdings Limited (ATH) and Kontiki Finance Limited (KFL) have shown support towards the 2018 awards.

SPSE chairperson Nur Bano Ali said: “Winning an award for individuals and institutions carries connotations of reputation and expertise.

“It is something that is priceless in any line of work and for all the SPSE stakeholders this is now being accommodated through the annual awards platform,” Ms Ali said.

The 2018 annual awards will once again feature the two categories; Annual Report Awards and Grand Awards.

To add flavour to the list of prizes under the Grand Awards will see SPSE rewarding two high school students on the national platform.

These students participated in the SPSE’s 2018 National Essay Competition.

This initiative was to assist and inspire high school students to rise to the financial skills challenge and build their confidence and knowledge about savings and investments.

SPSE’s chief executive officer Krishika Narayan said: “It was encouraging to see the commitment from various corporate organisations coming on board as event sponsors.

“The signing up of two gold sponsors for the 2018 awards is a testimony to show how the SPSE awards have evolved and are now regarded as the pre-eminent event for the entire capital market,” Ms Narayan said.

“The Judging for the 2018 awards will be carried out by an independent panel of industry experts with an impressive track record of success and substantial experience”

She further added that the 2018 awards are a must-attend event for all stakeholders in Fiji’s capital market.
