Korean born- Chang Ho Lee has been confirmed to represent Fiji in badminton at the Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires, Argentina in October.

Speaking to SUNsports during the Team Fiji Young Athletes Forum at the Grand Pacific Hotel in Suva, yesterday, the 17-year-old said he was inspired by his grandfather Ki Eun Kim who lives in Korea.

“It is an honour to take up the sport and considers Fiji to be my home now,” Lee said.

The Yat Sen Secondary School student said, this would be his first time at the Youth Olympic Games and he is very excited.

“I have taken part in international competitions like the junior tournament and the Oceania championship but none of such in a large scale,” he said.

“I’ve been training every day after school mostly at night and I’ve been doing this for the past three years.

“My grandfather was always pushing me though he is in Korea.

“I’m ready to represent Fiji and to do my best.”

The Youth Olympic Games is from October 6-8.
