Miss Sinopac Nikhat Nilufa Khan.

Meet Miss Sinopac Nikhat Nilufa Khan, one of the 12 Queen contestants at this year’s Vodafone Hibiscus festival.

Her advocacy message is on Climate Change and understanding its impacts in the Pacific.

The 22-year-old graduated this year with a Bachelor of Science (Environmental Science) from The University of the South Pacific. She is further expanding her qualification by pursuing Post Graduate studies.

She is also an Environmental Analyst at Eco Oil.

Ms Khan is a former student of Xavier College and Jay Narayan College and hails from Ba.

WHAT WAS YOUR REACTION WHEN YOU WERE APPROACHED TO BE A CONTESTANT? 

I was nervous yet eager to take up the opportunity.


WHAT WAS YOUR MOTIVATION FOR ENTERING THIS YEAR’S HIBISCUS?

The platform that the Hibiscus Festival provides which is regional in nature.


WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FORWARD TO AT THE FESTIVAL?

I’m looking towards gaining more perspective on the issues that we face.

Who is your greatest inspiration by far? 

My mother (Nikhat Nilufa Khan’s mother is Rosy Akbar, the Minister for Health and Medical Services).

FAVOURITES?

– Quote: Be a better version of yourself

– Food: I love Chinese food and pizza
