Set Your Vision, Former Sprint Queen Tells Our Young Athletes

Young athletes from respective sports were reminded to set their vision and mission in order to accomplish their goals in their respective sports.
The athletes were reminded during the Youth Athletes Forum at the Grand Pacific Hotel last Saturday. The forum was hosted by the Fiji Association of Sports and National Olympic Committee (FASANOC).
The athletes were reminded by former Pacific sprint queen Makelesi Bulikiobo- Batimala to be a successful athlete, one has to set a positive vision and see that they accomplish their mission.
“If you want to be successful athletes and be the best in the Pacific and qualified on merit for the Olympic Games you need to set those targets now.
“That’s what I did, when I was a small girl I set my aim to be the best in the Pacific and qualified on merit to the Olympics. While I was growing up, I had my vision and mission listed.
“ I didn’t fail, I set a new Pacific record, reached the semi–final of the World Championship and placed 24th and qualified on merit twice to the Olympic Games,” she added.
Team Fiji Youth Olympics chef de mission Tom Tiko said the forum was a great platform for the young athletes to learn how to expose themselves.
“We exposed these young athletes to few elements which will help them and to expose these young athletes early and they can take back to their sports.
“These young athletes are ready to develop their vision development plan,” Tiko said.
