A bus company has complained of vandalism it alleges is being carried out by primary school students on its buses.

Shore Buses Limited, which services areas to the west of Suva from Delainavesi up to Naboro, says such acts are costly for the company.

Operations Manager Aman Singh says this is not the first time such acts have occurred.

“Back seats have been torn with razor blades and it is costing around $3000 to repair the seats,” he said.

“There are so many things written on the seats with Pentel pen, which cannot be removed by just cleaning it.”

Mr Singh said schools were not willing to pay for the damage allegedly caused by their students.

“This is not the first time we are experiencing vandalism to our bus,” he said.

“Previously our buses were damaged and it requires a lot of money to keep fixing it again and again,” he said.

The driver of the bus, Saten Prakash Singh, said that he saw the students writing on the seats with Pentel pen.

“We have already reported to the respective school, but no one took action,” he said.
