Ba To Maintain Winning Form

The Ronil Kumar-coached 4R Ba Electrical will not leave any stoneS unturned as they face Suva today in the Vodafone Premier League clash at Govind Park.
The Men-in-Black are still fresh from winning their 17th Inkk Mobile Battle of the Giants title, two weeks ago and are expected to maintain that momentum.
Ba Football Association president Rishi Kumar said they need to finish six VPL matches in four weeks which is a daunting task.
“We’ve a new crop of players coming up through our development work with the coaches,” he said.
Kumar added players’ performance during the B.O.G was impressive.
He did not mince his words on fans who voiced their frustrations on social media after the team had a dismissal start this season.
“This is the same players and officials that many of our fans have been criticising. They should understand that this is football,” he added.
“If they look at the World Cup there were many shock results. I don’t know why our fans want Ba to win every tournament. Look at Suva they haven’t won the B.O.G since 1995.
“Our fans should have patience. We don’t have any major sport in Ba beside football.”
Kumar said his aim is to set a new record for Ba FA.
“This is Ba’s 90th title and when I came in as president I told the executives that I want to reach that century mark. We are 10 titles away.”
Meanwhile, tomorrow at Churchill Park, Lautoka at 1pm Nadi host Dreketi while at 3pm Lautoka face Labasa.
