The extensive growth of the Fijian economy has pushed Bangladeshi entrepreneur Tarequl Islam Repon to invest into his second restaurant, Masala Twist in Martintar, Nadi.

Mr Repon said: “Masala Twist’ is a new restaurant that is of interna­tional class and stature and opened its door last week Friday giving din­ers an additional choice for their re­spective appetite.

“We have wisely invested heav­ily, $380,000 to provide an authentic range of Indian dishes as well as Thai food.

“This simply means the healthier the Fijian economy, the more invest­ment which will boost greater re­turn.

“This area of bustling suburb of Martintar which is a very important business hub for the entire Nadi area.

“With world class furniture’s, pleas­ant layout, colourful, pleasant color­ful décor, service areas and ambient seating arrangements spread over a large area will attract families to en­joy their meals.”

Cooks preparing the dishes for eve­ryone in the kitchen are visible be­hind the glass partition which itself is an attraction.

“We are introducing some new menu with Fijian cuisines too and also looking for a local chef to grow the variety of dishes we can present here,” Mr Repon said.

There are total of 17 staff members with 10 local staff which are mostly in the frontline.

Mr Repon opened his first Masala Twist restaurant at the Golf Ter­races Apartments in Denarau last December.

He also runs a construction com­pany, Winsitoni Builders which em­ploys 28 staff.

The Nadi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NCCI) congratulated Masala Twist as the newest restau­rant in the bustling suburb of Mar­tintar.

President Dr Ram Raju said: “The opening of this new eatery will fur­ther enhance the dining experience for our visitors and residents alike.

“As NCCI sits on the driving seat of promoting investment and good business practice in the greater Nadi area, we are adamant the owners of this new restaurant will do their part in helping Nadi grow to be the role model city of the entire South Pacific.”
