Fijian Pearls head coach Vicki Wilson is scouting for potential players to be part of the national squad during the 2018 Digicel/ Punjas National Championship in Lautoka yesterday.

“The coaching team will pick players from the open and under- 21grades,” Wilson said.

This is in preparation for the 2021 Netball World Youth Cup which will be held at the Vodafone Arena, Suva and the 2019 Netball World Cup in Liverpool, England. Wilson said they would be looking for certain qualities.

“It is about looking and identifying talents, and players who reads the space well, has good court-craft and speed.”

In addition, the Fijian Pearls coach said it had been a good competition so far, as they had the chances in looking at other district players from other parts of Fiji.

“For me it is not about looking at the areas the players lack in but talents I can take on board for international duties,” she said.
