Fiji Airways Fijian Drua head coach, Senirusi Seruvkula has selected the best set of players for the 2018 Australian National Rugby Championship.

Seruvakula said with only two weeks remaining before kickoff on September 1, it will be tough selecting the squad out of the 33 players named in the extended squad.

“We have the right talent and mix of players,”he said.

“It is going to tough to select the first XV and the reserves. We have a lot of experienced players who have been through the mill, done it so it’s not a new environment for them.

“In fact 11 out of the 33 players have played for the Fiji Airways Flying Fijians,”Seruvakula said.

The eight teams for the 2018 NRC season include the Canberra Vikings, NSW Country Eagles, Sydney Rays, Brisbane City, Queensland Country, Melbourne Rising, Western Force and the Fiji Airways Drua.

DYER TALENTED

Seruvakula says, John Dyer will be one of the players who will contest for the No.8 jersey this year.

Dyer returned from New Zealand after a short stint with the South Canterbury rugby team.

He played for Malolo in the 2018 Skipper Cup Premiership and Swire Shipping Fijian Warriors in 2016.

“It is going to be tough having the players like Peni Raidre, Eremasi Radrodro contesting for the number eight position,” Seruvakula said.

“Dyer is full of talent and he will bring a lot of competition in the No.8 and No. 6 positions.

“Albert Tuisue who is also a No.8 will be playing as a lock forward this year.”

Seruvakula said the full squad would meet next Tuesday in Nadi.
