The Ratu Kadavulevu School Under-16 side are working towards their participation in a 2020 tourna­ment in Japan.

This was revealed by their head coach Maciu Naivava after they beat Queen Victoria School 15-5 to retain the Powerade Super Deans Rugby Championship U16 title.

“Our preparation towards the fi­nal was effective as we focused on the players’ discipline,” he said.

““We are getting ready to move on from here and prepare for the 2020 Japan tournament that we will be participating in.”

What happened: In the 17th min­ute RKS stamped their mark with a try to lock Manasa Maila­laga with the conversion from Everoni Koroibau going wide.

In the 21st minute QVS replied with a try to fullback Joshua Save with the conversion going wide.

But RKS had the final say in the 29th minute when flanker Nath­aniel Tuilaucala drove over to score the second try.

Halftime: RKS 10-5 QVS

In the second spell both side came out firing but RKS managed to score their third unconverted try to give them a handy 15-5 lead.

Comment: RKS side captain Mo­sese Qionimacawa said: “We have achieved what we were aiming for.”
