The Wainimala Under-14 captain, Taraiyasi Iowane played in his first Vodafone Kaji Rugby competition at the ANZ Stadium, Suva yesterday.

Despite going down 10-5 to Serua during the quarterfinals, Iowane says, he will cherish the memory for the rest of his life.

Iowane told SUNsports that he walks over three kilometres to attend training.

“I do that every day,” he said.

“We come from different villages and we have one training ground, so we’d walk for miles just to get to the school.

“I come from Tubarua, which is the last village in our province and to be here today to see the stadium and play on the field for the first time is a dream come true.

“Coming here and seeing the ground and playing on the field, I want to continue my dream and be like Josua Tuisova.”

Coach Filimoni Kilawekana said most the players are playing for the first time and they are thankful to Vodafone for making the players’ dream a reality.
