Pay Up, Naleba Told

Former Fji Sports Council operations manager Timoci Naleba was told to pay $300 every month effective from September 1.
Naleba yesterday appeared before High Court judge Justice Anjala Wati after he failed to appear in court on Tuesday.
He was sued by the Fiji Sports Council for misuse of money amounting to $4420.
Justice Wati questioned Naleba as to why he failed to appear in court on Tuesday.
Naleba told the court that he was in a meeting the whole day.
Justice Wati informed Naleba that if he failed to appear in court again, he will be issued an order of arrest again.
She told Naleba that the excuse given by him was not good enough as he defied the instructions of the court.
Sports Council lawyer Damodaran Nair told the court that Naleba had paid $300 on August 1, 2018, but the $1000 payment as claimed by the defendant was part of the payment for the misuse of monies to $4420, was not related to the case.
Justice Wati told the court that after the first payment, Naleba was left to pay $4120 which should be in the sum of $300 every month.
The notice of motion was filed by the Fiji Sports Council on October 18, 2017 along with the affidavit in support of Human Resource Man¬ager Sandhya Gounder.
On May 15, 2018 Justice Wati or¬dered Naleba to pay $300 per month with effect from August 1, 2018 until the whole amount is paid in full.
He faces a prison term of six weeks imprisonment for each de¬fault payment.
The case has been adjourned to November 22 to monitor the payments.
Naleba represented himself in court without legal counsel.
