The Anglican Church has revealed plans to expand its reach in providing quality education to Fijian children.

The new developments include the construction of a kindergarten, a multi-purpose court and a secondary school for the Holy Trinity Anglican Primary School in Suva.

This was revealed by retired Bishop of the Diocese of Polynesia, Archbishop Winston Halapua.

Archbishop Halapua outlined:

n By the end of this year, Holy Trinity Anglican Primary School will have two streams each for Year 1 to Year 4.

n The Holy Trinity Cathedral Kindergarten along Victoria Parade will be relocated to McGregor Road where the primary school is located.

n In the next three years, the school will also have Year 9 and Year 10 and a multi-purpose court.

n In the near future, they will have Year 11 to 13.

“We already have a product which is the academic excellence and the reputation of the school, but this need to be up scaled to new level thus the need to build new infrastructure facilities,” Archbishop Halapua said.

He said the church saw the need to expand the school to cater for an increasing need for quality education for children in Suva.

“Our aim is to work together with the Government, with the community and the parents aiming at quality education,” he said.

We need school children to know what it is and what does it mean to be good citizens.”

He urged the parents, old scholars and those people associated with the school to work together with the school board in ensuring that this dream came to fruition.

Fijians who are interested to assist the school project financially or in other form can contact the school on: holytrinitysuva@gmail.com

Meanwhile, Archbishop Halapua is now in Cambridge, England, on a 12-month contract at the Westcott House Anglican Theological College. He will return to the country after his term there.
