Gurjit Singh has begun selecting players for the 2018 Courts Inter-District Championship (IDC) in Suva in October.

The Suva coach wants the best team for the capital side.

He added players will need to step-up today against Tavua at Garvey Park in the Vodafone Premier League.

“I will want to select the best players in three remaining league games and they need to prove themselves,” Singh said.

“With the IDC coming up we will want the best team and it will not be easy for any player to join.

“Any player is welcomed to join but they need to prove themselves and abide by the rules.

“I will start monitoring players against Tavua this week and will be looking at their performance and attitude.”

Singh aims to recruit Under-19 reps Phillip Loeng and Mannav Permal for the IDC.

“I’ve seen them play but I heard they have been performing well in the national team” Singh said.  The match kicks-off at 3pm
