The Australian High Commissioner to Fiji John Feakes hosted an after­noon tea yesterday for Australian and Fijian athletes,

The afternoon tea allowed athletes to know each other before the Junior Pan Pacific Swimming Championships start tomorrow at the Damodar City Aquatic Center in Suva

Feakes expressed during the afternoon tea how Fijians have passion when play­ing a sport

“Fijians share our love for sports partic­ularly rugby, netball and also swimming,” he said

“To the Australian team I hope that you will be able to hold the taste of the pas­sion that Fijian athletes have.

“Fijian teams hold their sports with im­mense pride and interest that generates in them.

“Swimming is not only a swimming com­petition here in Fiji but it is also a way of life.”

Team Fiji swimming captain Rosemarie Rova acknowledged Feakes for hosting the afternoon tea for both the teams

“It has been a real privilege to be part of it,”Rova said.
