Being a Justice of Peace is not just about putting JP after your name and feeling important at public occasions, it’s not like that – it’s about serving the people!

These were the sentiments of Chief Justice Anthony Gates at the swearing in ceremony of 105 Justices of Peace yesterday.

He also reminded the new JP’s that Oath Taking is a solemn occasion that binds everyone to act honestly and serve the people regardless of race, religion or political views.

There is now a total of 520 JP’s serving the Fijian people.
