Grommet Series Set For Tomorrow

Tomorrow, the Natadola beach will come alive with this year’s Rip Curl Micro Grommet Series.
Fiji Surfing head coach Ian Portingale said over 50 kids would be surfing in the Under-10, U12 and U14 boys and girls division.
“This is a great way to try a surfing contest as everyone’s a winner in safe surf conditions and a supportive environment,” Portingale said.
“The under-10’s can have parent assistance to help them catch waves and everyone’s safe. Come and see the future talent of surfing in Fiji.
“As a new Olympic sport we are looking for new talent everywhere so it could be your son or daughter.”
Portingale said as well as the surfing contest there’s a free family day.
“The Fiji National Sports Commission will conduct beach volleyball and beach soccer.
“Vatuvara Eco Resort will conduct environmental activities while Inia Nakalevu will be doing introductory surfing lessons and Wailoaloa Boardriders is putting on a sausage sizzle.
So there are heaps to do for everyone on the beach at Natadola. Bring the family and enjoy this amazing family day. The surfing starts at 10am whilst the free family day kicks-off at 11am.”
Portingale said they are grateful to their sponsors Rip Curl, Jacks, Hot Bread Kitchen, McDonald’s, Fiji National Sports Commission, Vatuvara Eco Resort and Wailoaloa Boardriders
