Olivia Moore came all the way from Melbourne, Australia to watch her son, Thomas Pearson participate in the 2018 Junior Pan Pacific Championship at the Damodar City Aquatic Centre, Suva yesterday.

Moore said watching her son participate in the men’s 100 metres breaststroke was a proud moment for her.

Moore added that Thomas’ grandparents have been supporting him throughout.

“His team-mates and coaches helped him get here and reaching his goals,” she said.

“This is a proud moment for me and hoping that one day he makes it to the Olympics.

“This is an exciting time in his life having just turned 18 and I know he will do great things in the future.”

Pearson is named after his grandfather who was a former New Zealand swimmer.
