The Vereti Dickson cap­tained- Jack’s Nadi football side pipped minnows Ta­vua 1-0 in the Vodafone Premier League clash at Prince Charles Park, Nadi yesterday,

What happened: Tavua started strongly and they bombarded the Nadi goal looking for an early lead.

They dominated play throughout the half and came close to scoring several times but to be denied by the goalkeeping skills of Dickson.

Halftime: Nadi 0-Tavua

The hosts settled down at the start of the second half and took play into the Tavua territory.

In the 47th minute striker Rusiate Matererega slammed in their lone goal.

Comments: Nadi coach Babs Khan said: “I think that’s the way foot­ball is. One try is enough to seal your win.

Tavua coach Nazeel Ali said: “Nadi was determined to win because they had lost in our previous en­counter.”
