Body Of Major Tadu Arrives From USA, Burial Thursday

The funeral service of the late Major Amelia Dauveiqaravi Tadu will be held at the Queen Elizabeth Barracks in Suva on Thursday.
This was confirmed by her former husband, Major Lepani Damuni.
He was present with the Republic of Fiji Military Forces officers at the Nadi International Airport yesterday morning to receive her body.
The body of the late Major Tadu, was flown from the United States of America into the country, accompanied by her friends and relatives.

Major Damuni said her body would be taken to the Suva morgue today.
On Wednesday she will be taken to their residence at QEB in Nabua to rest overnight.
“After the Commander RFMF’s reguregu on Thursday morning her body will be moved for a church service at the Tuvasu Hall, at the Queen Elizabeth Barracks,” Major Damuni said.
“She will be buried at the Nine Miles Cemetery in Nasinu.”
Major Tadu will be accorded a full military burial.

She was among the first group of women to enlist with the RFMF in 1988.
Her latest appointment was to the Ministry of Defence as its Senior Military Liaison Officer.
Major Tadu, 50, passed away in her sleep on August 14 while on vacation in the USA.
Major Tadu is survived by her four children and former husband Major Lepani Damuni.
Meanwhile, the Fijian community in Santa Rosa, California had hosted a celebration of the life for the late Major Tadu at the Montgomery First United Methodist Church on Saturday.
