Rodu’s Girls Held To A Draw
The Solomon Islands women’s football team held the Vodafone Fijian side to a 0-0 draw in the OFC Women’s National Cup 2018 qualifiers at Churchill Park in Lautoka yesterday.
Speaking to SUNsports Fijian head coach Marika Rodu said their opponents came with a game plan which really caught them by surprise.
“It was tough but this is not the end for us as we will focus on our final match against American Samoa,” he said.
The hosts had a number of scoring chances which strikers Trina Davis, Cema Nasau and Luisa Tamanitoakula failed to capitalised on.
Meanwhile, Vanuatu scored a 1-0 win over American Samoa. Vanuatu’s goal was scored in the 43rd minute by striker Melissa Wakeret.
