Suva shoemaker Aklesh Pratap is all geared for his fight against unbeaten Shamal Ram Anuj in the Kiran Promotions at Prince Charles Park, Nadi tomorrow.

Speaking to SUNsports yesterday, Jittu Boxing Stable trainer Marika Yalimaiwai said they have great respect for Anuj as he comes from the well-known Mulomulo Boxing Club.

“For Aklesh, he will go and give his best shot,” Yalimaiwai said.

Also, fighting in the programme is Pratap’s sparring partner Nitin Lal who faces Junior Binnu Singh.

They are new to the professional ranks after they have represented the national amateur boxing team.

Boxing Commission of Fiji chairman Bulutani Mataitawakilai said Pratap is going to be tested by Anuj.

“The public will also witness several boxers making their debut such like ariculture student Suniar Dari who will take on Felix Chongsue.”

BCF stakeholders’ forum with promoters, boxers and trainers in the West will be held at the Blue Light Hotel from 7pm.

The official weigh-in is at 3pm at the Nair’s Dais in Nadi.
