Kemu Valetini of the Melbourne Rising is in Fiji for the first time.

Originally from Kadavu, the 24-year old was born and raised in Melbourne, Australia with his seven siblings.

Valetini will be part of the Melbourne Rising team that face the Fiji Airways Fijian Drua at Ratu Cakobau Park, Nausori this afternoon.

Valetini said being in Fiji has been good and meeting some of his family members for the first time.

“This is my first time here and the weather is pretty nice better than Melbourne and experience the Fijian life,” Valetini said.

“I was born and raised in Melbourne, my father is from Kadavu and I do not which village to be honest while my mother is from Lau.

“I have met some of my families at the airport and I just ran into one of my uncles at the hotel by accident, so it has been good.”

Valetini said they will be expecting a physical game against the Fijian Drua side and they are aiming for a win.

“We are expecting the Fijian flair, offloading in space by their big forwards and expect to play their freestyle game that they have always played.

“Hopefully if results go our way we will be happy to take the win back home.”
