Police Blues are going to take on arch rivals Navy in the 2018 Escott Shield grand fi­nal on Saturday.

This was after the defending champions beat Covenant Blue 17-5 in the first semi-final while Navy proved too strong for Queen Victo­ria School Old Boy with a 28-13 win at Bidesi Park, Suva yesterday.

Police Blues head coach Solomone Nute said the main focus for the fi­nal is to improve from their semi-final clash again Covenant Blue who fielded Team Fiji 7s Olympic Games gold medal winning captain Osea Kolinisau.

“We have achieved our goal for the semi-final and now the focus is on the final,” Nute said

“We made many mistakes and we’ve learnt from it.

“We’ll be working on those mis­takes from next week and also im­prove on our set piece as well be­cause we need to in top shape for the final.”

The former Suva prop said after a tight first half he offered words of encouragement to motivate his players.

“I told the boys that with a 7-5 score line they only need to believe in themselves.

“We are focusing from our set piece then we should be able to have a good game against Navy.”

Meanwhile, Navy manager Penaia Latianara said they are not leaving any stones unturned in their prepa­ration for final against the defend­ing champions.
