The Land Force Commander (LFC), Colonel Manoa Gadai, is happy with his two weeks Operational Readiness Check (ORC), which ended last Friday at the Queen Elizabeth Barracks in Nabua

According to Colonel Gadai, this ORC encompasses that all operational stores and equipment were fully serviceable. It also means that men and women are readily available should there be an immediate deployment or should relative circumstances arise.

“Queen Elizabeth Barracks is currently in an extreme makeover state with a very high level of cleanliness resulting from the ORC,” he said.

“It was important for me to carry out the ORC so that I can fulfill the duties I am required of by the Commander of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces, Rear Admiral Viliame Naupoto.

“This is how I interpret CRFMF’s intent from his theme progress; connect and project the image of the RFMF to the public so it is important that projection starts from the individual soldiers up to the officers.”

He said he started from Labasa in Vanua Levu last week, then to the training school in Nasinu, Engineers, Logistic Support Unit (LSU) and last Friday with the 3rd Battalion of the Fiji Infantry Regiment (3FIR).

He said all had prepared well to meet the requirements.

While addressing the 3rd Battalion Infantry Regiment (3FIR), he mentioned how pleased he was with the spectacular appearance of their headquarters and surrounding area.

He reminded the 3FIR personnel that it was important to maintain a high standard of bearing and discipline as they were the backbone of the RFMF.

Commanding Officer of the 3FIR Lieutenant-Colonel Penioni Naliva said the ORC conducted only strengthened 3FIR and bound them into a cohesive unit among the Land Force Command Units.

“It gives us an opportunity to brief the Commander Land Force on what we’ve done, how we are doing and where we are going in relation to the intent of the Commander Land Force and of course the intent of the Commander RFMF,” Lieutenant-Colonel Naliva said.

Morale of all Land Force Command Units is noted to be high after the Operational Readiness Check was completed.
