Being part of Shiri Krishna Janmashtami at the Fiji Bhrama Kumaris Rajyog Meditation Centre in Suva Sunday afternoon has enlightened Veena Bhatnagar

The Assistant Minister of Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation showed great excitement at the festival, also known as Krishnashtami.

Brahma Kumaris is the largest spiritual organisation in the world led by women.

It was the founder, Prajapita Brahma Baba, who chose to put women infront from the very beginning. This has set Brahma Kumaris apart on the stage of the world’s religions and spiritual organisations.

“The zeal, with which Janmasthami is celebrated is remarkable,” Mrs Bhatnagar said.

“The enthusiasm of people can be witnessed in all parts of the country.”

Brahma Kumaris is a worldwide spiritual movement, dedicated to personal transformation and world renewal.

However, their real commitment is to help individuals transform their perspective of the world from material to spiritual. Mrs Bhatnagar said the festival was an integral part of every culture; which provided a welcome break from the humdrum routine of daily life.

“It is celebrated in such a way as to help everyone come joyfully closer to God,” she said.

“It highlights love, unity, togetherness, and good values, loving one another and standing for justice.”

The Rajyog Meditation Centre is operated by BK Shanta Didi as the national co-ordinator.

Mrs Bhatnagar congratulated Didi and the meditation centre for their commendable work, in practising the good work of the spirit of giving, the spirit of healing and for the spirit of inculcating positivity in the hectic lives of the Fijians.

On behalf of the FijiFirst Government she wished all a joyous Janmashtami with a quote, “Let us stand United, and take Fiji forward”.
