The late Josefa Salabogi Bakaniceva will always be remembered as someone who was kind, humble and free spirited.

Mr Bakaniceva worked for an oil company in Kuwait.

According to the family, he was a citizen there. He died in Kuwait on July 20 after a road accident while on a workshift.

His body arrived on Tuesday night.

It is understood that the paperwork to get his body delivered to Fiji was the main cause of the delay.

His funeral was held yesterday. Mr Bakaniceva is survived by a nine-year-old son.

His sister, Rusila Bakaniceva, said: “We will all miss our brother. His passing is still like a dream for us.

“We have waited for his body for a long time and we are glad that we buried him.

“We have been always preparing because we didn’t know when his body would arrive. While dressing him at the morgue it hit me that my brother is no more.”

Ms Bakaniceva said her brother’s son would always be a priority for them.

“We will continue to look after our nephew,” she said.

“My nephew will miss his father but we will make sure that we make him feel that my brother is still around.”
