This Dreketi, Macuata lad is making everyone proud back home in Vanua Levu.
Netani Suluka said that representing the Vodafone Fijian Under-16 team was the biggest thing he could have achieved being the first from his village to play for Fiji.
The 16-year old is a student at Ahmadiyya Muslim Secondary School.
“I’m so proud that I will be representing my country,” he said.
The OFC U16 Championship will be held in Honiara, Solomon Islands at the Lawson Tama Stadium on September 9-22 with eight nations competing for two berths at the FIFA U17 World Cup in Peru.
Football started for Suluka at an early age.

Suluka got his breakthrough when he represented his school in the U14 competition.
“Playing with players from other schools gave me the confidence I had been looking for,” he said.
“I think I have achieved my goal and now I have to prove myself.
“My family is really proud of me and that’s what drives me to achieve more.
“This is the first time for a person from my village to play for a Fiji team,” he said.
