A man who was allegedly involved in an attack on Police officers at Nabua, Suva, last month ap­peared in the High Court yesterday.

Jone Vakarisi appeared before Justice Daniel Goundar for another case in which he is charged with one count of criminal trespass, one count of damag­ing property and one count of act with intent to cause grievous harm.

Justice Daniel Goundar asked the ac­cused to engage a lawyer soon so that he can be represented next time he ap­pears in court for this case.

Justice Goundar noted that Vakarisi allegedly committed another offence while on bail for the existing case.

Vakarisi replied that it was still an al­legation.

Vakarisi is one of eight men who al­legedly attacked Police officers near the Mead Road Housing Complex in Nabua last month, a matter that is before Mag­istrate Liyanage Wikramasekara.

Vakarisi is to appear before Justice Vinsent Perera on September 17 for mention.

He was further remanded in custody and a production order was issued for the accused to be present in court on the next date. Edited by Epineri Vula
