Defending national women’s pairs champions Litia Tikoisuva and Losalini Tukai are on track to defend their title.

The experienced Tikoisuva was impressed with their performance after day one of the national pair’s competition at the Suva Bowling Club yesterday.

“It was a good start for us despite the weather and we look forward to finish our round robin games tomorrow but it will be a tough competition,” she said.

Tikoisuva and Tukai walloped Sarote Hiagi and Usa Kalim in their opening round of games 20-7 had a bye in the second round and now have four points with three more rounds of games today.

The pair are expecting an exciting battle from the team of Sheryl Mar and Radhika Prasad who also have four points alongside Elizabeth Moceiwai and Mereani Thaggard.



In the men’s division defending champions Samuela Tui and Ishwar Lal also made a strong start after day one of competition as they defeated the team of Dan Lum On and Shorab Khan 22-7.

They went on to beat Eseroma Taubale and Sailosi Babakobau 17-14 in their second game and Joe Lepolo and Steve Illingworth 21-19 in their third round of games to finish on top of Pool A.



In the men’s quarterfinals today the defending champions take on Pool D runners- up Raju Prasad and Kushal Pillay,

Pool B winners of Bobby Prasad and Curtis Mar play Pool C runners-up of Jona Koroitamana and Waisea Turaga.

Pool C winners Surend Prasad and Ramesh Chand face Pool B runners-up Abdul Kalim and Yakub Khan.

Pool D winners of Semesa Naiseruvati and Munesh Kumar clash against Pool A runners- up Dan Lum On and Shorab Khan.
