Totoya villagers yesterday raised $56,000 in their fundraising festival, Totoya Day, at Furnival Park in Toorak, Suva.

The two-day event closes today.

The villagers had set a three-year target of $100,000.

Village chief Jokini Taoi said: “We are planning to invest the money in our company, Totoya Limited.”

Totoya Holding limited is a business arm of the tikina and they will be running business for Totoya, which started two years ago.

Mr Taoi said chiefs from the five villages in Totoya, Tovu, Ketei, Dravuwalu, Udu and Vanuavatu, came together to support the fundraising.
