HERE COMES FIJIFIRST

It’s getting close, people. You can feel the election fever in the air.

Here’s today’s guide for five things to watch for in the coming days.

  1. FijiFirst will name a powerful refreshed lineup, dropping some parliamentarians who have not performed up to expectations..
  2. Don’t be surprised if names like Balmindar Singh, Brij Lal, and Lorna Eden are no longer there.
  3. Ratu Inoke Kubuabola will follow through with his previously announced retirement from politics. Don’t be surprised if the former Foreign Affairs Minister later turns up in a diplomatic role.
  4. Watch for FijiFirst to bring in some strong new names, boosting the lineup. Names to watch for include:

Dr Ifereimi Waqainabete (famed as a surgeon/ teacher and hospital administration).

Premila Kumar (now you know why she resigned from the Consumer Council).

Anne Dunn (lawyer and former Miss Fiji and Pacific Islands), one of a couple of sharp, well educated younger women likely in the lineup.

5. Not to forget the tried and true core leadership team headed so well by Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama and Attorney-                 General Aiyaz Sayed Khaiyum to be retained

WHISPER, WHISPER, THERE’S NO “COUP’

Don’t for a second believe the usual phantom whisperers again trying to stoke trouble and fear with coup talk.

The Republic of Fiji Military Forces is fully prepared and ready to support the Police dealing with anyone who dares try to stir trouble.

Military intelligence, rest assured, are also keeping an eye on one or two with suspect pasts who have started to resurface in political activities.
