Nawaka Out, New Nadi Champs

A new champion will be crowned in the Jack’s Nadi Rugby super division final at Prince Charles Park in Nadi on September 29.
This was after defending champions Nawaka bundled out in the Cup quarterfinal losing 28-21 to Dratabu last Saturday.
Dratabu proved strong complimented with the services of former Malolo skipper Veniona Vuki, Olympians Samisoni Viriviri and Kitione Taliga.
The side will face the Viliame Tui- captained Army side in the first semi-final this Saturday while Eparama Naresia captained Western Marine take on Saunaka led by Atama Susu.
“A new champ will be crowned after the Dratabu team defeated last year’s champ Nawaka,” competition co-ordinator Jeff Tamata said.
“A good crowd went through the gates and the standard was way up high compared to previous years.
“This Saturday we are expecting similar turnout due to the awesome standard of rugby displayed by all the teams last weekend.”
