Rakuro ‘Northern Prince’ Daunivavana is looking for another knockout win against Vanuatu-based Roy Ser next month.

Rakuro will fight Ser on October 20 at Gospel High School, Suva.

This fight was secured after Rakuro claimed his first round win knockout win against hard-hitting Krishna Mudaliar in the main supporting bout at Prince Charles earlier this month.

“I’m also planning for a knockout win against Roy Sher,” Rakuro said.

He already started training for the fight.

‘I’m following a consistent training schedule every day,” he said.

For the morning session, he trains from 5am to 7am and from 4pm to 7pm in the evening.

Rakuro believes one needs to train hard to last the fight.

“You need to be really fit if you want to perform well inside the ring,” Rakuro said.

Under new coach and former boxing champion Tevita Vakalalabure, Rakuro said that he had the opportunity to learn new skills.

“He has been very helpful to me as I have managed to work on my new combinations over the past few days,” he said.

The fight will also be a build up to his title fight in November.

Rakuro is currently in Siberia Labasa and grateful for his family’s support.

“There are always there to support me,” he said.

Rakuro said that boxing is also gaining momentum in Labasa. “I’m always glad that I’m able to inspire and help people out. It’s what I love doing,” he said.
