Sri Lanka wants 3 players

The Territorial Force (TF) has been informed by the chief executive of the Fiji Rugby Union John O’Connor of a request from a Sri Lankan military team. The team wants three Fijian players – a number eight, a half-back and a centre three quarter. However, the condition is they must be from the Territorial Force of the Fiji Military Forces. BTL has been reliably informed that the three players will play and work from the Sir Lankan military. The search for the players has started and good luck to them.

Fiji navy welcomed to 2020 Kakadu exercise

After successfully participating in the 2018 Kakadu Exercise, Fleet Commander of the Royal Australian Navy, Rear Admiral Jonathan Mead said they would be delighted to see Fiji join them again in 2020.

Exercise Kakadu – Australia’s largest maritime exercise – has wrapped up, following an intensive two weeks of realistic and challenging training.

Fiji contributed the Pacific Patrol Boat Republic of Fiji Navy Ship Kikau, plus two observers on board the Royal Australian Navy Armidale Class Patrol Boat HMAS Glenelg.

The sailors and officers of the Kikau were seen to be highly professional and worked well as a team.

They had a strong understanding of the capabilities of their ship, having just completed mariner skills training with Australia’s Sea Training Unit following the refit of the Kikau in Cairns.

The Fijian Navy has further strengthened the Fiji and Australia relationship.

Congratulations to our Navy, the Kikau officers and sailors for a job well done.
