3 on Aggravated Robbery Charge Remanded

Three men were further re­manded by the High Court in Suva yesterday charged with aggravated robbery.

Lasaro Tuberi, Penioni Nakavule­vu and Eparama Nagalu appeared before judge Justice Chamath Mo­rais.

The three men are each charged with one count of aggravated rob­bery.

It is alleged that the three accused on June 11, 2018 in Naselai, Nau­sori robbed Singh’s Supermarket of nine cartons of BH10 cigarettes valued at $57,290.40, two cartons of BH20’s cigarettes valued at $12, 257.05, cash of $22,000, cheques to the total of $9000, one carton of Fiji Bitter valued at $68.40, 22 bottles of Fiji Gold valued at $193.80, one can rum and cola valued at $3.10, 13 cans of Joskes valued at $58.50, two bottles of Tribe valued at $6.20, one can of Vodka valued at $4.99, two 750ml bottles of bounty rum valued at $133.92, two 375ml bounty rum valued at $74, two 750ml of Regal Gin valued at $133.90, three 375ml of Regal Gin valued at $111, two 750ml of Regal Whiskey val­ued at $133.90, three 375ml of Regal Whiskey valued at $111, two 375ml Delux Whisky valued at $74, one bottle wine valued at $14.95, one BH10 valued at $6.90, three BH20 valued at $37.20, one Rothmans 10 valued at $6.70, two taki glass val­ued at $1 each, seven Nivea men’s cream valued at $83.93, eight Brut spray valued at $63.92, 12 Gillett shave valued at $299.88, six Revlon hair colour valued at $75.54, and three DVR valued at $1200.

The state counsel Kimberly Sem­isi told the court that she had filed the consolidated information and disclosures. She also sought time from the court to file a bail re­sponse for Nagalu.

Tuberi and Nakavulevu were ear­lier refused bail by Justice Morais.

The matter was adjourned for plea to October 5.

The three accused were further remanded in custody and a produc­tion order was issued for the three accused to appear in court for their plea.
