A man charged for aggravated robbery had his case transferred to the High Court.

Maleli Etuate Lolohea Somumu appeared before Magistrate Liyanage Wickramasekara.

Somumu is charged with one count of aggravated robbery.

It is alleged that on September 11, 2018, in Suva, Somumu robbed the complainant of her Samsung S6 mobile phone valued at $1500 and at the time of the robbery, it is alleged that he used personal violence on the complainant.

Magistrate Wickramasekara had transferred the matter to the High Court stating that aggravated robbery was an indictable offence.

Somumu had sought Legal Aid presentation.

The state was represented by Police prosecutor Sergeant Raymond Filipe.

Somumu was remanded in custody.

The matter was adjourned to September 27.
