Police and Black Virus will play in the National Club Championship later this year.

The teams top the Labasa Football local league and will play the final next week.

Police will play in the final of Labasa Football Association local league.

“I am happy and thankful to the 12 clubs for their support in making sure that we finish off this league before the end of the month,”

League chairperson Shameer Hassan said; “Police and Black Vi­rus now qualify to play in the Na­tional Club Championship which will be held before the end of this year at Ratu Cakobau Park, Nau­sori.”

Police qualify after they beat Town FC in the semi- final 4-1 at Bocalevu Primary School.

Team president Hungat Naicker said since joining the competition last year, they were confident of winning the league in 2018.

“Our final against Black Virus will be a challenge as the team comprised Labasa reps,” he added.

“But we will do our best and may the best team win.”

RESULTS

Quarterfinal: Police 3-0 Nagigi, Town FC 2-0 Wailevu, Black Virus 4-1 Batinikama, Babasiga Lions 0-1 Tabia; Semifinals: Tabia 3-4 Black Virus, Police 4-1 Town FC.
