It’s Volleyball For Valentine Brothers

Brothers Rusiate, 22 and Masi Valentine, 19 hope to be the first in their family to represent Fiji in volleyball.
The duo played for the University of the South Pacific beach volleyball team during the 2018 Fiji University Games at the National Netball Centre yesterday.
Rusiate, a Bachelor of Engineering degree student, said taking part in the annual event was an eye opener for him and his brother.
“We were inspired by our father to take up the sport and we are loving it,” he said.
“We took the sport seriously when we joined Central College Lautoka and later for the Waiyavi Scorpio Club.
“Being part of the Fiji University Games for the first time has really showed us that we can achieve our dream to one day represent Fiji.”
The Taveuni natives are aware that it will not be easy but they are prepared to work hard.
“After leaving Central College last year, we wanted to continue playing the sport so we joined the USP team and it has been a learning experience for us.”
