Team work is important when it comes to any workplace and yesterday Fiji Sun Suva newsroom reporters had a special session on this ahead of covering the General Election.

Conducting the training was Mayur Kalbag, 45, from the training panel of the Confederation of Indian Industry.

Mr Kalbag said: “The aim of this particular workshop was to make the participants aware and understand the importance of team work because an organisation only functions when people work as a team.”

He is from Mumbai, India, and has carried out training and development initiatives for the corporate sector in India and South-East Asia.

He has been voted the most effective trainer for seven years in Godrej and Boyce and also the best trainer in Force Motors. He has also been associated with Tata Motors for more than a decade.

Fiji Sun human resources officer Timaima Nakauyaca, who also attended, said: “One of the most important things I learned is the lesson of a caterpillar and that we have to grow and become a butterfly. I also learnt to criticise to improve and not to bring a person down.”
