The Fiji Secondary Schools Under-16 and U18 rugby teams that will be travelling to Australia for the Tri-nations series and to New Zealand presented their i-tatau to President Major- General (Ret’d) Jioji Konrote yesterday.

While receiving the i-tatau, the President reminded the two teams that they came through a process of selection and that they have done the hard yards.

He reminded them that they have big shoes to fill and also offered the nation’s well wishes as they prepare to represent Fiji.

The U16 rugby team depart for Australia on September 28 and return on October 6 while the U18 side depart for New Zealand on September 27 and return on October 5.

Meanwhile, Maximus Lestro of Lelean Memorial School was lost for words when he was named captain for the Fijian U16 rugby team.

“I was excited and at the same time nervous but I know I have the full support of the team and management,” he said.

Lestro added that this would be an opportunity for them to gain experience while playing at international level.
