The Dragons won the Suva Primary School inter-house athletics meet at the ANZ Stadium, Suva yesterday.

Dragons won 30 gold, 20 silver and 16 bronze medals, Sharks second (26, 24, 27), Panthers third (22, 24, 18) and Lions fourth (19,, 21, 20).

School principal Brij Singh said they would be taking 30 of their best athletes to the Suva Zone One competition this week.

They are looking for a new venue since the Fiji Airways Drua play the NSW Country Eagles at ANZ Stadium this Saturday.

Singh added they are closely working with Athletics Fiji officials to train their squad for the Fiji Primary Schools Chow Games on November 16-18 at the ANZ Stadium.

“This is the largest field and we are targeting over 20 athletes to progress through to the Chow Games,” Singh said.

“Our strength will be on the Under-9 and U13 grades.

“We are involving officials of Athletics Fiji and students are taking time out to learn from them and help build them further.

“We are aiming for more medals this year and we will bring out best athletes.”
