The Vodafone/Westpac Nadi International Airport Volleyball Games are getting better and better since it started 14 years ago.

This Saturday 241 teams from 84 organisations will compete in the one-day event at the Mt St Mary’s School ground.

“We will be having 802 games in one day.  I don’t know whether it’s a world record but it’s happening here in Nadi on Saturday.”Games president Joe Gray said.

“It has been ably supported by business-houses and hailed as the biggest volleyball festival in the Pacific.”

The event is being planned by former national rep Dan Vakadranu and Sera Delai.

“Preparation is well underway. We are adamant that we will be able to complete our games before 5pm,” Gray added.

“We had our meeting with Water Authority of Fiji in nd we have been assured of getting water tanks at the venues in Mt St Mary’ School and Fiji National University.

“It is a priority and challenge for us going in to the games on Saturday. We have a data base of 3200 registered players and more that 6000 people are expected to turn up to support the 84 organisations.”

The Tarakoro will be held on Friday night and funds raised will be directed to the WOWS KidsFiji a non-profit charity foundation for children with cancer in Fiji.
