A 36-year-old man charged with being in possession of illicit drugs has been further remanded by the High Court in Suva.

Kritesh Kumar appeared before High Court judge Justice Thushara Rajasinghe yesterday.

Kumar is charged with one count of being in possession where he was allegedly found with 1.4 kilograms of Methamphetamine at his home during a Police raid on October 31, 2017.

He is represented by lawyer Abhay Singh.

Mr Singh told the court that because he had attended a trial last week, he was not able to make submissions for bail application.

Mr Singh sought more time from the High Court to prepare the submissions.

The court granted Mr Singh 14 days and informed him to make and file his submissions by October 19.

The matter was adjourned for bail ruling to October 30 before Justice Rajasinghe.

The accused was remanded in custody.
