Stick to volleyball, HOPE leader Tupou Draunidalo has told SODELPA provisional candidate Lynda Tabuya.

The war of words intensified yesterday as Ms Tabuya weighed in on the on-going clash between SODELA leader Sitiveni Rabuka and Ms Draunidalo.

“It’s sad that at a time when Fiji is focused on finding solutions for the future, her (Ms Draunidalo’s) solution is to blame everything on Rabuka,” Ms Tabuya said.

“Most of her statements and commentary on social media have been filled with such vile and hatred that she sounds more like a mouthpiece for this regime’s attacks than a leader of a party which at the moment does not have any hope of breaking the five per cent threshold,” Ms Tabuya remarked yesterday.

Ms Draunidalo hit back and said: “Ms Tabuya best stick to volleyball. She’s a novice here and needs to learn a bit more. I was president of a party that won three seats at the last election and we reduced her current party’s 15 seats to our cheer squad. Nothing more.

“Since I left them, their poll numbers went from 54 per cent to 10s and 3s. We’ve released many policy papers. I can’t help them if it’s beyond their comprehension. Voters want to know about the public record of those running for PM.

“Hence my reminders to the country of what Mr Rabuka is and what legacy he left to this country,” Ms Draunidalo said.

Ms Tabuya responded: “Maybe if she focused on the issues and less on rambling on about her personal issues with Rabuka her ‘friends’ would join her for lunch.

“I do not focus on those I am fighting against, I focus on those who I fight for.  She could do well to do the same.

“That’s what a party leader should be focused on. What will you do for the people of Fiji should you be elected into Parliament.”
