FLP and SODELPA coalition?

Expect a Fiji Labour Party and SODELPA coalition people. You read it first here. There are three seats left to be filled by SODELPA in its lineup of provisional candidates.

It is expected that the likes of Aman Ravindra Singh, FLP’s general secretary, will be announced under the SODELPA banner to fight the elections, but will try to pull a Lynda Tabuya and call it a memorandum of understanding (MOU). BTL understands that many people are not willing to fund the ailing FLP and this is another chess move to keep the party relevant and for SODELPA to come across as a more inclusive party.

Keyboard warrior

A certain keyboard warrior in New Zealand refuses to leave his office to come out and receive papers from a bailiff. Even his staff have confirmed to the bailiff that he does not leave the office till after 5.30pm.

In New Zealand the service of legal papers can be done till 5.30pm. This man has gone to the extent of changing his car, all to avoid detection. Not so loud and courageous now?

Ticket search

Some applicants who fail to get tickets from their political parties are apparently knocking on the doors of other political parties.

There are plenty of spaces left in the Fiji Labour Party, HOPE Party and Unity Fiji. Some are available at the National Federation Party camp and three places are still to be filled by SODELPA.

There are a lot of offers and counter offers happening  as the date for the writ of elections issue draws near.

‘Tell us the truth’

Waima district chief Ratu Timoci Rokobukete in Naitasiri has welcomed all political parties to campaign in his district. However, the catch is, he wants the campaign to be constructive and no criticisms against other politicians.

“Tell us the truth – and   no lies,” he said.
